Who doesn’t love to be outside enjoying this wonderful summer weather? There are some things to consider doing in your yard before letting play time begin.
If you have a BBQ, make sure you teach your child that this is hot and shouldn’t be touched. Even if it isn’t hot it could still tip over if your child decided to try and play with it. Also keep all of the grilling utenicles, charcoal, and lighter fluid out of child’s reach.
One fun activity is walking through the woods to see all the pretty flowers and plants that are growing. Make sure that your child knows not to pick anything without your permission as some of them may be poisonous.
It doesn’t take much water at all for a child to drown in, so make sure you have an eye on your child at all times while they are in the pool. Also don’t put a lot of water in the kiddie pools and then empty them out when you are done (let your animals drink the water so that is doesn’t get wasted) .
A very common hazard is lawn mowers. These can be very dangerous and I have already heard many stories just this year of children getting hurt. Keep your child either inside the house or in a porch that has a gate while you are mowing. You generally can’t hear when you on a mower if a child comes up beside you. When you are done keep your lawn equipment away from children.
These are some tips that I thought were important, I hope you feel the same! Now everyone go enjoy a safe summer!

Great tips! I can’t believe how many little ones drown every summer. It’s so easy really, just don’t look away not even for a second. The phone, the door, the show on tv, nothing is as important than your little ones.
