My husband travels a lot so I feel pretty single most of the time. I do all my stuff and his stuff too - like taking care of the car, yard, bills, emergency things around the house, etc. I'm teaching my girls to help so they can take care of themselves when they grow up and not have to depend on someone else.

I guess I'm lucky because even though I am a single mom, my parents help me out a lot. I feel like my mother is sort of my son's second mother. Of course, that also means that we have different ideas on how to parent. But, I am 24 and I have a good job and I am a responsible person (ususally), and I think for the most part my mom respects that I can handle this!

I'd just like to say that I really do admire single parents.
I am fortunate to have a husband who I have been with for over 10 years but all of my friends are single parents and I really do not know how they coped, we struggled in the early days and there was two of us! |

I can't imagine being a single parent. As it is right now, my husband works full time days and goes to school at night. It leaves me with a lot of responsibilities, but I also know that he will be home eventually, even if only for me to vent!

I guess I am lucky. It sounds like some of you ladies are more "single" than me when it comes to parenting!!
