My 3 month old son basically just likes peek-a-boo. We have some rattles and things. Should I start stocking up on toys now?

My son ended up with tons of baby toys and to be honest with you my son only really played with a chosen few.

He liked the toys with texture (crinkling), loved looking at his reflection in little mirrors and of course sound.

He used to have one of those inflatable tyres covered in fabric of different textures, and peek-a-boos. It was also a safe place for him to play at that age because he wasn't sitting up alone and I would pad a cushion behind him and it allowed him the freedom to sit and play.

Another case of "less is more." It's nice that people are so generous when you have a baby, but giving cash is more practical.

Over the years I have given savings bonds, gift certificates, etc. so the family gets what THEY want, not what I think is cute.

Good advice!! Our baby toys have lasted through the years, mostly because nobody played with them! Sometimes my 2 year old plays with the baby's toys, but "baby toys" seem so unnecessary!
