I breastfed both of my kids. With my oldest, she would not latch and I had to pump and feed her with a bottle (which is so much more work). With my second, I had to take a break while I healed (doctor's orders) and he wouldn't latch after that, so I began pumping and feeding him in a bottle.

We are now thinking about a third baby and that is what stresses me out. That is the only part of having a third that makes me doubt our wanting another baby.

I guess I just need some encouraging words!

First of all, nursing (or not) is basically only the first year...you don't want to miss out on the other wonderfull years just for that, right?

Secondly, every child is different. You may have a lot more luck with this baby. I wasn't able to nurse my first at all. My second latched on immediately (she actually had "in utero nursing blisters" on her fingers when she was born from sucking so much). She really taught me how to nurse. With my last baby, she was terrible at it, but I was a lot more confident. We got through it. You will too.

Someone told me with my first one that it wasn't worth driving myself crazy over. She was right... did I want to nurse him? absolutely...but I was way less psycho once I let it go! Good luck!

Thanks so much. I need those words of encouragement. I really want a third baby. And I really want him/her to nurse because the good 6 weeks that my son would latch were so wonderful.
But you're right when you say that I need to think about the other years!
