With all the talk about babies/kids becoming immune to antibiotics for overuse, are you concerned? My kids haven't been sick too much because they have been home with me. But my daughter just started preschool and she has been to the doctor four times in the past two months. She was only prescribed antibiotics once in those four times. Does anyone feel they have been over-prescribed antibiotics? Has anyone talked to a doctor about the concern?

I haven't had that concern with my little kids, but I think it is valid. I have noticed that every time I go to the doctor myself for an ailment, they just write out the script for an antibiotic...without really trying to figure out what is wrong!!

I agree. My kids haven't been on antibiotics too much. But a lot times, doctors will say, "it might be viral, but we'll go ahead and put you on antiobiotics to rule out the bacterial infection." It is scary.
