What I mean by this is that a lot of times you hear people say, “just make them sleep in the dark and they will get over it.”

The truth is that this could just make the child more scared, the above is just an example.  But forcing your child to do something that they are scared of doing could have the reverse effect of what you intend.

A good method to try is to help your child do things that make them feel safe, this will help them with their bravery.  Start with things that you know they will do and gradually move from there.

Well some pretty common reactions are a slight fever or even noticing that your son has some pain at the injection site.

Pay attention to if you are really concerned because the next list are reasons to call or go the doctor:

*A fever of 102 f or more

*If you have having a hard time getting your child to wake up

*Seizure

*Hives, noticing trouble breathing, something that looks as though it is an allergic reaction.

*Excessive vomiting or diarrhea

Better safe than sorry, so if you feel as though there is something wrong then please ask your doctor.

When you have to tell your child no because it they might harm themselves, or because they can’t have something at a store, you shouldn’t feel like a bad parent because your child isn’t getting exactly what they wanted.

I think that it is good for children not to have absolutely everything thing that they want.  Everything that they need is a different story, but they are people and need to realize that just because you want something doesn’t mean that you can have it.

If there is something that your child really wants, maybe this is a good time to teach them to save their money and learn the value of a dollar.

Don’t get me wrong Alex is pretty spoiled, but even he gets told no from time to time.
