Let me start by saying that if you have a newborn then this will probably not work, as newborns sleep about 14 to 18 hours a day.

As your infant gets a little older, I would say about 3 to 6 months you can start trying to aviod those middle of the night feedings.  The reason being that this age is sleeping about 12 to 15 hours, and may be doing less sleeping throughout the day.

Just because your baby wakes up in the middle of the night doesn’t always mean that he/she is hungry.  In some cases the reason that they wake up is because it is the pattern that they are used to.  Instead of instantly feeding your baby when he/she wakes up, try soothing them back to sleep.

If you feel like your baby truly is hungry then please go on and feed them. I suggest giving this a try, because in some cases the longer that you wait the more you baby is going to want to get up and eat.

I would say anywhere from 7:30 to 9:00 is ok. Really the only thing that matters is that your toddler is getting the amount of rest that he/she needs, and that he/she is stay on a routine.

Keeping the bed time the same every night will help your toddler stay in a routine. I wouldn’t do 7:30 one night and then 8:30 the next.

If your toddler is going to bed at random times, but still waking up about the same time in the mornings, that can make for one grouchy child. If yours in anything like Alex, who needs about 11 hours of rest a night, he wakes up about the same time every morning no matter when he goes to sleep.

I would say just to try to develop a good routine that works for your toddler!

If you are keeping your baby in the same routine all of the time you will probably have a less fussy baby.  For an infant you can’t really keep their napping to a schedual because they sleep so much, but you can with their eating.  Try to feed them every 3 hours or so.

If you are working with a toddler you can have a daily routine of meals at 7:00, 12:00, and 5:00 with snack time between them and a long nap after lunch or two shorter naps.  It really doesn’t matter what routine that you have your baby on, but it is nice when the child knows what to expect.  If your child knows that nap follows lunch maybe they will not fight it.
