Although this isn't a new brand of Pampers, they are now being introduced as Swaddlers Sensitive.  After seeing these diapers used on my friends baby, (as Alex is too big for them) I would highly recommend them to any new parents.

I have always said that Pampers are my brand of choice, but they have outdone themselves this time!  The Swaddler Sensitive have a wetness indicator strip on the outside of the diaper.   The strip turns from yellow to blue when your baby is wet!

Also, this diaper is perfect for newborn babies that still have the umbilical cord, and there is a notch in the newborn size diapers to keep the umbilical cord clean.  Not to mention the fact that the liner of these diapers, is the most absorbent that I have seen.  This will help keep your baby's delicate skin protected.

All in all I really can't say enough good things about the Swaddler Sensitive diapers.  I would highly recommend giving them a try if you have a newborn!

I have been working with Alex on potty training for about the past 8 months now. When I say this, I mean for the first while all I was doing was talking to him about the potty and watching some Elmo videos. We got his little potty and took it to the living room and let him watch Elmo potty at the same time Alex was on the potty.

Eight months later and we are seeing the light! With no poop in the pull up now for 3 weeks, and has gone 3 days with only one accident! Alex asked me the other day if he could wear underwear, and I am hesitant to put him in them in case of an accident. I feel that he may get discouraged.

It is very important not to rush potty training. Take the time and don't let frustration get the best of you. We went through about a two month spell of Alex not wanting to potty at all and then all of a sudden the interest came back. We kept him in pull ups throughout so not to confuse him!

Any parent that has been through the potty training before knows why I am just SO excited and proud that Alex is becoming such a big boy!!!

Cloth diapers have really come along way, now you can get them in all-in-one styles and even flushable diaper liners.

Some reasons to use cloth diapers would: MUCH cheaper, better for the environment, and never having to worry about running out. The most important part is that there will be much less toxins getting to your baby if using cloth!

There are many different styles to choose from, but one that I have seen a lot is the All in One.Kushies Ultra All-in-One Diapers (5-Pack)These diapers are washable and made with 100 percent cotton flannel.  They are reinforced with an absorbent middle layer and an outer waterproof barrier for leak-proof protection. The built-in absorbent layer folds in front for boys and in the middle for girls. An adjustable Velcro waistband and the soft elastic at the legs fits closely to help prevent leaks.

I didn't use them with Alex, but I am just now learning about them and would use them if I had another child.  I will be doing more research about them and keep everyone informed on why cloth is worth giving a shot!

A schedule is not only helpful for you to know when your baby eats and takes their nap.  It is also good for your baby because there is less change of belly aces to too much gas if they don't go from eating 5 times a day one day to 9 times the next.  If you didn't start a schedule when you came home from the hospital then I highly recommend starting one now.  If you feel like it is too much to wait every four hours to feed your baby, do every three.  That is what I had Alex on.  He ate every three hours which turned out to be at 7, 10, 1, 4, and 7.   It helped greatly when we were developing a nap time and a bed time and getting him to sleep through the night.  It is also a good guide to changing diapers.  If you haven't changed a diaper in a while, just change it at least every time your baby eats.

If you are having a hard time getting that painful stuff to go away first try to use the creams.  When  you use the cream change the diaper more often then you normally would and let your baby dry completely before putting a new diaper on, and apply the cream every time you change your baby.  If even this isn't helping, I have heard of using a warm damp towel with no soap or anything on it for just pee pee diapers and for poop diapers, using damp warm towel with Dove bar soap (the kind for sensitive skin).  After  you have done this, pat your baby's bottom dry and dab the Desitin and let it dry completely before putting the diaper back on.

If your toddler is showing signs of being ready then around 2 is a good age.  Keep in mind that this is not an overnight success.  How long it takes depends on the child and each child is different.  Some of the signs to look for are telling you if they have to pee or poop, another is if they are helping to dress themselves as far as pulling up and down their own pants.

Not everyone uses pull-ups, however I think that they are very helpful.  I think that it helps the toddler feel like a big kid and some even have cool alerts, which is something that gets cold when wet.  Others have symbols that fade when wet, all very helpful when a toddler is trying to learn to potty.  We have decided to use them with Alex and he is very excited to be out of diapers!
