One of the features on this baby advice blog will be "Recommended Baby Toy" where I recommend a baby toy that my baby loved. There are so many baby toys out there that it can be confusing to know which ones to buy, so hopefully this will help you to choose a baby toy that your child will love.

My first recommended baby toy is the Fisher Price Kick and Crawl Aquarium. This helps with coordination for young babies.

Eating habits are learned when you are a baby. If you can feed your baby fruits and veggies instead of junk food they will develop a taste for foods that are good for them!

One of the biggest health problems facing our world today are all of the children growing up eating substandard food from fast food restaurants and other junk food. Someone who eats junk as a baby will most likely crave junk throughout their life and will very likely battle weight problems and have health issues as they grow older.

If you have a food grinder then I recommend using it. I spent a lot of money that i didn't need to on jarred baby foods. With a baby food grinder they can eat what you are eating. Not only is it cheaper, but it is better for them.

If you don't have a grinder yet then you can purchase a baby food grinder online at BabyCenter.com - click on the photo below to learn more about the KidCo BabySteps Electric Food Mill they have for sale:

Coughing Cure: Apply Vick's vapor rub on the bottom of your baby's feet before bed, then cover them with socks.

This coughing cure was discovered by a scientist at the Canada Research Council. The research has shown that even persistent, heavy, deep coughing can be treated with this method. It is supposed to be more soothing than even strong prescription cough medicines.

Considering recent news reports stating that baby cough syrups have killed some babies I would highly recommend at least trying this method first. I may even try it on myself the next time i have a cough!

I have not tried this yet myself, but I will let you know how it goes when I try it and please leave a comment here if you try this method yourself.

***Please note that you should NEVER give a child under 2 years old cough syrup.***

My son has yet to develop any kind of diaper rash. There are three things I've done that I think have helped in preventing diaper rash.

#1 I do not feed my child any sort of fast food. I'm careful about what I feed him and try to keep him clear of all junk food. I think it's a very bad idea to feed your baby any food from some place like McDonalds. That should be common sense but people are so used to eating at places like that, that they think it might be OK for their baby too. It's not really the best idea for you and it's definitely not OK for your child.

#2 Every night after his bath I put Balmex on his tushy.

#3 I change his diaper every time he eats.

I believe if you follow these same three methods you will greatly decrease the chance of your own baby developing diaper rash.

Something I do with my son's toys is split them up and put half away while keeping the other half out for him to play with. Then I rotate them every month or so and they seem like new to him! This way you save money on toys and your baby doesn't get bored. Every month he thinks he's got a whole new load of baby toys!

Also remember that all toys are made better when mommy and/or daddy get on the baby's level to play with them. Babies needs interaction with their parents and they'll certainly feel the toys are more interesting if you play with them too.

Keeping your baby on a schedule will not only help you, but your baby as well. It is easier to plan your day if you know when your baby is going to eat and when your baby is going to sleep.

Developing a pattern at a young age helps your child as they grow up. Think about everything your child will be doing in life. It may be day care, school, or even when they get to work, all of these things will have them on a schedule.

Life is on a schedule and if you want your baby to be ready for life then you'll be doing them a favor getting them used to a schedule now.
