If you want your child to learn to share start when they are infants. When your baby hands you a toy or a half eaten cracker, offering you a bite, take it happily and then return it smiling. If your child is holding a toy don't take it from him/her, not even as a joke. That will teach your baby possessiveness, just to hold tighter and tighter to the toy.

Anytime you are trying to repeat an action done by your child (any age) use positive reinforcements. It can be as simple as a smiling thank you. Why not teach your baby to a friendly person!
