When you are ready to begin teaching your baby to read make sure that both you and your little one are happy and having a good day, this way your baby associates reading and learning with being happy. A great way to teach your baby to read is to play the reading game a couple times a day for short periods of time.

How do you play the Reading Game?

Make flash cards with words on them. Write big and bold so that it can be seen by your child clearly. Show the flash cards to them quickly because they will be picking it up quickly. Keep adding new words. The more consistent you are with your child the more he/she will learn. It is very important to stop before they want to. Leave your baby wanting more instead of burning them out on it. Let them learn at their own pace so that learning to read is something fun that your child looks forward to. Get excited to play the game and so will they!!!

It is amazing how much children are really learning! The more information that a child takes in the more that stays with them. They also really want to learn! Treat learning to read like a treat rather than a chore.
